FAQ Dynamic Pricing

Which tickets are only available at the ticket office on site or cannot be purchased online?

The following tickets are only available offline at the ticket office in Wiler or Lauchernalp: tickets for small children, parent tickets, tickets for locals, sledging tickets, multiple-ride tickets, cable car passes only and tickets with reductions that are not available in the online shop. Group rates (on application by e-mail info@lauchernalp.ch ).

Why do Lauchernalp Bergbahnen have dynamic pricing?

As an innovative company, Lauchernalp Bergbahnen always wants to keep its finger on the pulse and offer our customers the best possible service. Therefore, we strive to ensure that customers can benefit from a convenient online booking option with attractive early booking discounts. Also, the aim of this pricing strategy is to smooth out the occupancy rate of our snow sports area and make skiing more attractive, especially in the low season. The user-friendly booking process is also intended to reduce waiting times in front of the ticket offices and thus enable the customer to start directly on the slopes.

Will skiing become more expensive with the dynamic pricing model?

No. Compared to the static prices, skiing will be significantly cheaper in the period before Christmas, during several weeks in January and from mid-March. During peak season periods (Christmas/New Year and sports holidays), prices may increase moderately due to high demand. However, customers who book their holidays or ski days online early will still be able to travel at lower prices than before, even during the peak season.

How can I benefit from this pricing model as a customer?

Customers can benefit from this pricing model in several ways. Early bookers who book their ticket early will benefit the most. These customers will receive up to 25% early booking discount. Customers also benefit from lower prices if they ski in the low season. Resident guests in particular can benefit from very attractive discounts here. However, this also applies to resident guests during the main season, who benefit from extremely attractive price gradations for multi-day passes.

Why should I book online as a customer in advance?

Customers who book online benefit from lower prices, which is why early booking is particularly worthwhile. This is because the price, which is recalculated daily, tends to rise the closer the ski day gets. Early bookers will therefore ski cheaper than customers who buy their ski pass at short notice or at the ticket office. There are no "last minute" price reductions. If the ticket is loaded online onto a SKIDATA Keycard or a SwissPass, there is no need to queue at the ticket office and you can start your ski day straight away.

How can I book my ticket online?

Tickets can be booked online via www.lauchernalp.ch. Ideally, the ticket is conveniently loaded onto an existing SKIDATA Keycard or SwissPass. If you have neither a Keycard nor a SwissPass, you can simply print out the ticket at home using the "Print@Home" function and exchange it for a SKIDATA Keycard at the ticket counter. With the Print@Home option, the deposit for the SKIDATA Keycard of CHF 5.- is already due when the ticket is purchased online and can be reclaimed later when the SKIDATA Keycard is handed in (at the ticket counters in Wiler or on Lauchernalp). However, we recommend that you keep the SKIDATA Keycard so that you can load future purchases directly and conveniently onto it.

How does the Dynamic Pricing Model work?

The Dynamic Pricing Model calculates a dynamic price regularlybased on factors such as demand, seasonal phase, day of the week, weather or time of booking.

Is it possible that the regularly updated and quoted price will decrease again?

No, basically all factors that are used to calculate the price have a price-increasing effect.

How can I find out about the updated prices?

The best way to find out about the latest prices is to visit www.lauchernalp.ch. The price at the ticket office on the respective moment always corresponds to the prices displayed online.

Can I still buy ski passes at the ticket office?

Yes, all tickets and ski passes can still be purchased at the ticket office.

Which ski passes are affected by the new pricing model?

Basically, the prices of all ski passes - with the exception of season passes - will be determined using the dynamic pricing model.

I don't have a credit card. How can I still book and pay online?

If you cannot use an online payment option via Mastercard, Visacard and Twint, you have the option of a so-called prepaid credit card. You can buy one at any kiosk and load it up with credit in advance. You can find more information here: https://www.okpunktstrich.ch/de/prepaidcards/sofunktionierts/
